Business Controller

On behalf of one of our clients, we are searching for a Crew Coordinator with varied HR tasks for a long-time assignment. The position starts in mid-November 2023. 

Major responsibilities:

The HR/Crew Coordinator will assist the Hr Director in the day-to-day business of the HR Department, which includes the recruitment and selection of senior seagoing staff and other key personnel.

Implicit in above is also the responsibility of the HR/Crew Coordinator to assist the HR Director in having available at any time well qualified maritime personnel, Norwegian officers as well as foreign officers and crew.  The position should also assist and support in Shore base staff related tasks.

Foreign personnel are being selected and engaged via crewing agents abroad.  However, all key personnel to be accepted and confirmed by the crewing department prior signing of contract.

Secondary responsibilities:

Besides major tasks, mentioned above, it is also the responsibility of the HR/Crew Coordinator to assist the HR Director in performing the following specific duties:

• Ensure that all seafarers are certified and qualified for their position on board in accordance with international rules and regulations.
• Travel arrangement for seagoing personnel, and in this connection ensure that travelling arrangement and routines allow the joining crew best possible rest before taking over their duty on board.
• Ensure that new crewmembers are given the training and education as planned and introduced by the Company.   
• Keep an updated record of the training and education program for each crewmember (in co-operation with crewing agent(s).
• Pay of maritime Norwegian personnel.        
• Control work and rest hours pr vessel once a month.
• P & I matters, with relevance to crew.                           
• Checking of D/A from foreign crewing agents.            
• Plan coursing and upgrading of maritime personnel.
• Crew planning and co-ordination of sailing/off periods.      
• Update next of kin information for all direct employed seagoing personnel.

Position overview

The company’s SCM Digital & Indirect team is seeking a highly motivated Contract & Category Professional with passion for category management, continuous improvement and contractual matters. You need to be commercially inclined, able to handle multiple cases at once and have excellent communication skills towards both internal stakeholders and our suppliers.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing category, contract and procurement activities within the Real Estate and Facility Management Category, while also contributing to other indirect categories. The company has currently several exciting projects within Real Estate and Facility Management, including the development of a new office complex in Stavanger, adapted for future ways of working, to be completed by 2025.

As a Contracts & Category Professional, you will play a vital role in optimizing category strategies, driving sourcing projects, and building effective supplier relationships. Your ability to manage contracts, analyze market trends and collaborate cross-functionally will be instrumental in achieving our objectives. With deliverables stretching across the whole category management spectrum, you will get the chance to practice and develop your supply chain competence further. 

The position will report to Supply Chain Manager Digital & Indirect.

The position will be located in Oslo, Stavanger or Trondheim and require some mobility with business travel between the offices.

Tasks:

• Category Management: Drive improvement initiatives by pursuing priorities outlined in the category strategy, while also contributing to the continuous development of the strategy.
• Procurement Management: Lead sourcing initiatives through all steps of the procurement process, from development of procurement strategies, via RfXs, to negotiation and contracting.
• Contract and Supplier Relationship Management: Manage the contract portfolio, develop and maintain supplier relationships, monitor performance, execute terminations, amendments and renewals.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including the category team, business representatives and the SCM Digital & Indirect team to secure alignment on initiatives and compliance with Aker BP’s governing principles.

You are a good match for this role if you:

• Possess Relevant Experience: You have a track record in contracts and category management. Experience within indirect categories and/or Real Estate and Facility Management is a plus, but not a requirement.
