
People Advisor Compensation & Benefits
For our client in the oil & gas industry, we are looking for an experienced People Advisor, Compensation & Benefits. This is a key HR role for a candidate with strong expertise in compensation and benefits, HR analytics, and advanced Excel skills. You will support managers and stakeholders through data-driven insights, salary and reward processes, workforce planning, and strategic HR advisory, helping to drive informed business decisions across the organization.
Duties and responsibilities
Provide operational and strategic HR advice to managers and employees in areas including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, organisational changes, and termination of employment.
Support managers in workforce planning, organisational effectiveness, and employee-related decisions.
Provide guidance on the application and interpretation of internal policies, procedures, Norwegian employment law, and collective agreements.
Take ownership of assigned procedures in the management system, ensuring they are regularly reviewed, updated, and maintained in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, ISO standards, and internal governance requirements.
Initiate, coordinate, and execute compensation and benefits processes, including salary reviews, market benchmarking, job evaluation, incentive schemes, and remuneration governance.
Analyse salary structures, compensation data, and market information, and prepare evidence-based recommendations.
Develop, maintain, and analyse HR metrics, dashboards, and reports that support management decision-making.
Prepare analyses relating to areas such as turnover, recruitment, absence, organisational structure, diversity, and compensation.
Contribute to local and global initiatives, projects, and system implementations through analysis, change support, and stakeholder management.
Ensure high-quality HR data and support compliance with statutory requirements, audit requirements, and internal controls.
Prepare reports, presentations, and decision-support materials for management and other stakeholders.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, reporting, and ways of working.
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master’s degree in HR, finance, business administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in HR advisory services, compensation and benefits, HR analytics, or related disciplines.
Good understanding of Norwegian employment law and HR practices.
Experience with salary processes, market benchmarking, and job evaluation.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into clear recommendations and decision-support materials.
Advanced Excel skills and solid experience with HR systems, reporting, and dashboards.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables in a dynamic environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian and English.
