On behalf of one of our clients we are searching for a Cost Controller, long time assignment

Job purpose:

Cost Control on behalf of Client, on Well Management projects. Including establishing Authority for Expenditure (AFE), establishing Well Cost Tracker, day to day cost tracking of well, financial reporting and forecasting of well costs, invoice check and approval. Follow up on disputes, well reconciliation and end of well cost reporting. Create projects in Tripletex and maintaining the project structures, follow-up actual cost and income against forecasts and project accounting.

Key responsibility and work tasks:

  • Prepare Limited Assignment Agreements
  • Prepare Supplier cost estimates for AFE input
  • Establish AFE
  • Establish Well Cost Tracker
  • Day to day cost tracking of well                          
  • Weekly cost reporting to Client including total well forecast
  • Manage invoice check & approval process
  • Final well cost reporting & well reconciliation
  • Ad hoc tasks related to project
  • Receive and follow up travel bills on behalf of a project
  • Support the Drilling Superintendent and Finance Manager
  • Forecasting of projects revenue and update the project accounting accordingly
  • Financial follow up and control of projects according to client contracts
  • Responsible for correct internal time writing and hourly control of the projects
  • Responsible for handling both incoming and outgoing project invoices
  • Follow-up required amendments on contracts and prepare variation orders
  • Ensure timely invoicing according to the contract and timely payments of invoices
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or relevant field, relevant work experience can substitute education
  • Minimum 2 years' experience
  • Knows how to allocate the budget and establish a Cost Baseline
  • Can analyse a cost report, detect issues, and effectively communicate the project's cost performance, issues / concerns, and recovery plans to the project team
  • Well organized with an aptitude for data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Cost Control tools
  • Creative thinking skills and ability to solve problems
  • Good Norwegian and English skills, both oral and written

Reporting to:

The Cost Controller will report to Finance Manager. If assigned to a well, the position will report to Drilling Superintendent.
